New Children Settling In

When children first start at Beeston the likelihood is that they will already have visited several times including a Fun Activity Day in the Summer term when they spend the day with other new children getting to know the school, as well as existing Beeston children and staff. We value these initial visits so that, when they arrive on their first day at Beeston, new children feel as if they belong.

For new Day children, on their first morning they will be met by their Form Tutor and a ‘Shadow’ who will ensure they are well looked after in the early days guiding them through each day, introducing them to friends and encouraging them to join in as much as possible.

Did you know?

Each new boarder will have a ‘Boarding Buddy’ who will stick close to him/her in the early days

In addition, new boarders will be welcomed by members of the boarding team. Each new boarder will have a ‘Boarding Buddy’ who will stick close to him/her in the early days, to ensure they all make friends and feel very much at home in their new environment. So begins the friendships which last long after children have left Beeston, indeed many Old Beestonians have made their lifelong friends playing in our wooded grounds and sweeping open spaces.

Not every day is sunny and Beeston has robust pastoral care and monitoring of children to ensure that each child is helped with even the smallest worry or concern, as they develop into independent young people.

The wonderful thing about you all at Beeston; the integration between the years and caring spirit.
