Did you know?

We have a full-sized astro turf pitch, a heated 20m swimming pool, 25 acres of grass sports pitches, netball and tennis courts, a large multi-purpose sports hall and an indoor shooting range.

Overseas pupils are welcomed at Beeston and, whether attending for three years or three months, are fully integrated into school life, with individual EAL support as needed, throughout their time at the school. Several generations of overseas families continue attend, inspired by ‘word of mouth’ recommendations.

We value the contribution international students make to our school. However, we have only a limited number of places for overseas pupils from any one individual country to maintain the necessary immersion within an English-speaking boarding school and ensure our international pupils achieve the most from their stay with us.

We are proud of the atmosphere of kindness and courtesy we create, meaning there is the right blend of humility and confidence to meet the challenges of the children’s next stages of schooling.

We have 100% success rate in gaining entry to first choice national senior schools for pupils. Recent leavers have won places at: Ampleforth, Cheltenham Ladies’ College, Downe House, Eton, Framlingham, Gresham’s, Harrow, The Leys, Oakham, Oundle, The Perse, Queen Margaret’s, Repton, Rugby, RHS Ipswich, Shrewsbury, Stowe, Tudor Hall, Uppingham and Wycombe Abbey.

We recognise and understand the differing needs of overseas boarders and are fully committed to ensuring that your child’s stay at Beeston is a happy and rewarding experience.

We offer special arrangements to services and diplomatic families to bring fees within FCO’s CEA ceiling.

Aspirations and hopes for a child may differ, depending on the underlying purpose in sending him or her to Beeston. Many families require the ‘immersion’ to transform English language skills but, increasingly, some years in an English prep school is seen as the best springboard for entry and integration into premier UK senior schools, which is the gateway for outstanding GCSE and A level results and world class university education.

With the correct documentation, the process is straightforward. Every student must obtain permission to enter the UK in order to study. The only exceptions are children with a British passport or nationals of the European Economic Area (EEA) countries. Non EEA students require a student visa and application is made using the points-based student route.

Help is available from the British Mission/Embassy/High Commission/Consulate-General in your own country (see www.fco.gov.uk for a list) or from the UK Border Agency (www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk), combined with our links to the Newland Chase Education.

Beeston Hall, as a licensed sponsor, will provide you with a visa letter which is an important part of the application process.

We can help you through every step of the process and are always available to answer any questions. Please contact our Registrar, Mrs Viv Farnell,  vf@beestonhall.co.uk

No pre-admission visit is required, but international students will have a skype/Zoom/Microsoft Teams meeting with the Headmaster, and then are asked to undertake an assessment of English and maths, alongside a report from the child’s previous school. Basic English skills are required, but each case will be considered on its own merits. In accordance with the normal practice, one full term’s notice is required before a child is removed from the school.

On the presumption they require EAL teaching, there is a 15% supplement on fees for pupils outside Europe, which covers up to two hours per week EAL tuition, EAL exam entries and the substantially greater administration required.

Beeston was the perfect prep school for my sons when we lived abroad. The small size and family atmosphere of the school, and its proximity to Norwich Airport were the factors that really made it ideal.
